Whenever there’s a chance to ignite the world with diversity, Fantoons will always be ready to be at its best! Tío Simón is this unique combination of Mr. Rogers and Bob Dylan-yes, really! His children’s TV shows were championing equality and social justice since the late ’70s, while he was writing beloved Venezuelan folklore anthems.
Nestlé excitedly called us because they fell in love with our animation and the character we created for our official Tío Simón ABC book. This truly never gets old for us, it’s flattering and awesome. Nestlé wanted Tío Simón to be the image of their relaunch of a very popular milk brand in Latin America. A multi-channel campaign across socials, cable and TV.
Fantoons created the full visuals across all social media platforms, broadcast and cable to bring the campaign to life.
Nestlé’s La Campesina comes from El Llano, agricultural fields situated in Venezuela where animals graze freely and the landscapes take your breath away. Deeply profound and nostalgic, a crucially important component for this campaign.
The artwork needed that “hand-made” feel, and we used watercolor and pencil brushes to marry the beautiful Tio Simon jingle to the properties of the brand. Publicis adored the renderings that we did for the key visual of the campaign, this also ended up in outdoor signs and supermarkets all over Latin America.
The many strengths of Fantoons came through in this campaign, creating a commercial that generated appeal across generations, as well redesigning the brand’s character under this unique watercolor style. The new “La Campesina” look went viral, some even said she’s never looked so “sexy” on social media!.
