Animations from Disney Channel asked David Calcano and Fantoons to create a series of shorts to inspire children to better eating habits, so Fantoons created The Adventures of Papachu and Dr. Kapatoo, a series of mini-musicals where our two friends help kids in trouble in their daily lives. Singing lessons in styles ranging from punk rock to hip-hop, they help kids learn about the power of food. In this episode, playing the blues doesn’t mean you have to be glum. Get excited about superfood blueberries with Papachu and Dr. Kapatoo! Official Music Video for “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” by Frank Sinatra Frank Zappa’s music is often the perfect blending of the silly and the grotesque, and we aimed to keep that spirit alive in this video accompanying a live recording of “The Dangerous Kitchen.” Both tense and absurd, “The Dangerous Kitchen” brings our every irrational kitchen fear to life, while also brushing it off as no big deal. Just watch where you step… First of all, Nat King Cole’s voice carries more joy and depth than any other singer, probably ever. And “The Christmas Song” is probably the greatest holiday song ever, as well. As a studio, we aspired to capture the timelessness of early Disney movies to go along with it, but with our own story and spin. We used hand-drawn textures and old-school methods to bring this production to a level we couldn’t be more proud of.
There’s something cozy about this song that is indescribable. It’s like you want to cry with memories, but you can’t help but smile. It has a flow of emotions of every kind in less than three minutes that just makes the world go ’round. What an honor to have the opportunity to create a video for this classic.
