I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm

Dean Martin is the quintessential voice of ‘Christmas cool’, and wherever in the world you find yourself, his dulcet tones can instantly transport you to a suave and dreamily nostalgic realm of Christmas euphoria. In the video for “I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm” we set out to foster that magical experience, by creating an atmosphere of Christmas wistfulness, with a stylish Dean Martin touch. Our graphic artists first collected hundreds of retro photographs, while our animation team began work on 2D animation in the style of classic UPA cartoons, both teams aiming to evoke feelings and remembrance of the early 60s. It was also crucial to represent many of the locations mentioned in the song, such as Sydney, Toronto, Rome, Paris and London, all while bringing the Christmas spirit to each region through many Easter eggs. (Keep an eye out in the video for ‘Christmas Crackers,’ a British favourite!) Finding the right photographs presented its own challenge, and animating them proved to be one of our studio’s biggest hurdles yet, so we are thrilled to have experimented and succeeded.
