Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
This is the original introduction we used for our pitch to Sinatra’s estate and Universal Music. Amazingly, we received approval in less than thirty-minutes, an incredible achievement for us as a studio.
As an immigrant, Christmas is a time that brings nostalgia and beautiful memories. It is impossible to forget the people we left behind; friends, family, and places we shared that perhaps, will never be part of our lives again. It’s all part of the quest for a better future, and for some, it is a quest for life itself. When I left Venezuela the social situation was terrible and today, it is sadly worse… Every immigrant, including myself, leaves with a beautiful sense of hope: “From now on, our troubles will be out of sight.”
Christmas is the Good News, the hope for the future. This phrase stuck with me on my personal journey. Of course, nothing is easy, but when diligently working things start to happen…every Christmas becomes better, life grows, and suddenly… “we’ll all be together”
Maybe not quite as it used to be, but as good or better in different ways. That is what the video is about-Christmas from the point of view of an immigrant, starting from the difficult decision of leaving, leaving your immediate family until things get better.
“Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas” always had that message of hope for me, taking the small things and celebrating them. As always, we are tremendously grateful for the opportunity to create a video for such a personal and timeless song.
Press & Social Sentiment
As one of the first stories about Christmas from an immigrant point of view, the video went viral in Latin America, bringing Frank Sinatra soaring back to the charts on YouTube in Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, and more! All this, despite zero promotional investment.
