I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm
MUSIC
If there was something that characterized Dean Martin, it was his voice and his charisma. His comedic talent was often the hallmark for his music, and for the video of “I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm,” we could certainly not leave out that special essence.
In our concept, Dean takes on the mantle of Santa Claus during Christmas, and we see him singing from home to home on a globetrotting journey. We combine visual collages, mid-century patterns, and traditional 2D animation to add a timeless, yet nostalgic, flavor to his adventure.

Script
In our story, Santa is overwhelmed by his work and decides to take a break. He seeks out the ideal replacement, someone who can match his own effervescent and suave persona–and that person is none other than Dean Martin.
Characters
To best fulfill our initial concept of mixed media elements, we created two main styles for the foundation: 2D animation for Santa’s world, and a photo-collage for Dean’s world.

Animation
We set out to create an effective way to visually represent Dean’s travels around the globe during Christmas, so for this challenge, we went with the lens of a kaleidoscope. Our idea was to move it clockwise as the night passed and ultimately, the movement would be connected with the record spinning our beloved Dean Martin tune.
